Hi, my name is Sunny and I am a cinematographer.

I embarked on my journey into the world of filmmaking a few years ago while studying in law school. Having practised as a lawyer for a while, I felt that the legal industry is quite cold and harsh for my liking. Therefore, I decided to embrace my inner creativity and pursue filmmaking with an unwavering passion – because at the end of the day, life is too short to be anything but happy. 

Since then, I have been fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects with talented crews and cast members, taking me throughout Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Brisbane, as well as internationally to Hong Kong and Malaysia. In 2019, I became a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society.

What I love most about filmmaking is that it allows me to explore different aspects of humanity – its beauty, darkness and everything in between. I am always looking for new ways to tell stories, and I firmly believe that film is one of the most powerful forms of communication out there. My ultimate goal is to use it to inspire people to make a difference in the world.
